Removal & Installation

NOTE: Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is locate on left side of engine compartment near master cylinder.

Disconnect negative battery cable. On vehicles with dual batteries, see DUAL BATTERIES under MISCELLANEOUS. Remove 4 air cleaner assembly bolts and loosen air cleaner outlet pipe clamp. Position air cleaner assembly to gain access to Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor electrical connector and disconnect MAF sensor electrical connector. Remove air cleaner assembly. Disconnect 2 hoses on air cleaner outlet pipe (except 4.2L), loosen clamp at throttle body and remove air cleaner outlet pipe. Loosen PCM harness connector retaining bolt and disconnect PCM electrical connector. Remove 2 PCM mounting nuts. Remove PCM cover and PCM. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten PCM mounting nuts and PCM harness connector bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
