Rear Safety Belt Retractor: Installation
- Install the rear safety belt retractor.
- Position the rear safety belt retractor to the C-pillar.
- Using the special tool, install the bolt.
- Position the rear quarter trim panel and connect the power point electrical connector.
- Install the rear quarter trim panel.
- Position the quarter trim panel and feed the safety belt webbing through the opening.
- Align the quarter trim panel and push in, fastening the retainers.
- Install the cargo cover hold-down.
- Install the cargo cover.
- Install the rear hatch scuff plate.
- Install the rear hatch weather-stripping.
- Make sure the spacer is installed onto the rear safety belt guide bolt.
- Install the rear safety belt guide.
- Position the safety belt guide.
- Using the special tool, install the bolt.
- Install the rear safety belt guide cover.
- Raise the second row seat backrest.
- Install the safety belt anchor.
- Position the safety belt anchor.
- Using the special tool, install the bolt.
- Install the C-pillar weather-stripping.
- Install the rear door scuff plate.
- Position the rear door scuff plate.
- Install the two pin-type retainers (one shown).
- Close the cover.
- Position the seat cushion down.
- Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
- Check the active restraint system for correct operation.
- Make sure that after the rear safety belt retractor is installed, the retractor is not in the Automatic Locking Retractor (ALR) mode.
- Carry out the Emergency Locking Retractor (ELR) Mode Functional Test to make sure that the new retractor operates correctly. For additional information, refer to the COMPONENT TEST .

Make sure the safety belt webbing is not twisted prior to installation.
