Engine Dynamic Balance Shaft: Installation

  1. Lubricate the balance shaft bearings with clean engine oil. Install the engine dynamic balance shaft.

  2. Install the engine balance shaft drive gear.
    • The timing marks on the drive and driven gear must align.

  3. Install the timing chain vibration damper.

  4. Install the crankshaft sprocket, camshaft sprocket and timing chain as an assembly.
    • Timing marks on the gears and keyways on the shafts must align.

  5. Install the synchronizer drive gear.

  6. Install the engine front cover. For additional information, refer to ENGINE FRONT COVER .
