Rocker Arm Cover, Rocker Arm And Push Rod: Removal

  1. Remove the valve cover(s). Refer to VALVE COVER LH  or VALVE COVER RH  .
    NOTE: Both left and right rocker arms and push rods are removed the same way. Only left side is shown
  2. Remove the 16 rocker arm bolts, the eight rocker arm assemblies, and the push rods. Push down on the rocker arm. Pull out on the bottom releasing the ball.
    NOTE: Be careful when removing the rocker arm snap retaining clip. Do not lose the rocker arm steel ball.
  3. Remove the snap retaining.

  4. Remove the rocker arm pedestal from the rocker arm.
  5. Remove the steel ball from the rocker arm.
