Oil Pump: Installation

- Clean and inspect the mating surfaces.
- Position the oil pump and loosely install the bolts.
- Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown.
- Install the oil pan. Refer to OIL PAN - Automatic Transmission or OIL PAN - Manual Transmission .
- Install the LH timing chain guide and the timing chains. Refer to Timing Drive Components .
CAUTION:
The oil pump must be primed prior to starting the engine.
