Section 4 (Engine-4.6L 2V): Installation: Engine

- Using the special tool, install the engine.
- Connect the transmission wiring to the bracket during installation.
- Remove the special tool.
- Install the special tool.
- Using a suitable floor crane raise the engine.
- Remove the RH and LH special tool.
- Install new gaskets and the exhaust manifolds, tighten the nuts in the sequence shown.
- Lower the engine, remove the special tool.
- Install the generator. For additional information, refer to HEATING & VENTILATION .
- Raise the vehicle.
- Install the power steering pump. For additional information, refer to POWER STEERING .
- Install the bolt and the body ground.
- Install the nine bell housing bolts.
- Install the starter. For additional information, refer to STARTERS .
- Connect the LH heated oxygen sensor.
- Connect the RH heated oxygen sensor.
- Re-position the H-pipe and install the four exhaust flange to manifold nuts.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the A/C line and tighten the nut.
- Connect the line to the evaporator core.
- Install the safety clip.
- Connect the line to the receiver drier.
- Install the safety clip.
- Connect the degas sensor lead to the battery tray.
- Connect the connector.
- Install the battery leads.
- Position the access cover.
- Connect the ground connector.
- Connect the connector.
- Connect the fuse link.
- Install the tighten the body ground.
- Connect the power steering line.
- Install the A/C line.
- Connect the A/C pressure cycle switch.
- Connect the A/C manifold suction line.
- Install the safety clip to the manifold suction line.
- Connect the electrical connector.
- Connect the harness in harness in three locations.
- Connect the engine bulkhead connector.
- Connect the heater water hoses.
- Connect the climate control vacuum supply lines.
- Position the cables and install the bracket.
- Connect the throttle cable, speed control actuator cable and the return spring.
- Connect the upper radiator hose from the water outlet adapter.
- Connect the fuel lines. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
- Install the battery. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
- Install the air cleaner and outlet tube. For additional information, refer to REMOVAL & INSTALLATION .
- Install the degas bottle. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING . or SUPERCHARGER COOLING .
- Fill the fluids to the correct levels.
- Start the engine and check for leaks. Stop the engine and recheck the fluid levels.
- Recharge the A/C system. For additional information, refer to CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
- Install the hood.
NOTE:
Adjust the transmission support jack as necessary to aid in the installation of the engine.
NOTE:
This step will allow the installation of the exhaust manifold through the bottom and access for the removal of the engine lift brackets.

This will need to be done as the H-pipe is being positioned.
