Main Control - Pump: Installation

  1. Install the pump assembly and main control valve body onto the pump shaft.

  2. Rotate the pump assembly and main control valve body to connect the manual valve link with the manual valve.
  3. CAUTION: Do not use the bolts to draw pump assembly and main control valve body onto the chain cover case. Component damage may occur.

  4. Using the special tool, install the pump assembly and main control valve body. Loosely install the bolts.
  5. CAUTION: Do not use the bolts to draw pump assembly and main control valve body onto the chain cover case. Component damage may occur.

  6. Remove the special tool, install two bolts, and tighten the bolts in the sequence shown.
  7. Install the transaxle wire harness the retaining clip into the separator plate.
  8. Connect the electrical connectors.

  9. NOTE: The transaxle side cover gasket is reusable if not torn or ripped.

  10. Install the side cover, gasket and bolts.
  11. Install the LH transaxle support and insulator. For additional information, refer to TRANSAXLE SUPPORT INSULATOR .
  12. Install the LH front fender splash shield, screw, and pushpin.

  13. Install the LH front fender splash shield screws.

  14. Install the LH wheel and tire.
  15. Lower the vehicle.
  16. Install the bolts retaining the upper transaxle side pan.

  17. Remove the 3 Bar Engine Support.

  18. Remove the LH engine lifting bracket.

  19. Remove the RH engine lifting bracket.

  20. Reconnect the turbine shaft speed (TSS) sensor connector.

  21. Install the electrical connector bracket.

  22. Install the power steering line bracket.

  23. Reconnect the connector.

  24. Reconnect the connector.

  25. Install the battery tray.

  26. Install the air filter assembly.

  27. Install the engine air cleaner.

  28. Reconnect the mass air flow (MAF) sensor and the breather tubes.

  29. Reinstall the battery.
  30. Fill the transaxle assembly with one quart of clean automatic transmission fluid.
  31. Start the engine. Move the transaxle range selector lever through all positions. Check the fluid level.
