Removal And Installation: Battery: Installation

NOTE: Inspect and clean the battery posts and cable clamps with a wire brush before reinstalling the battery. Neutralize any corrosion with a solution of baking soda and water. After installing the cables, apply a small quantity of Premium Long-Life Grease XG-1-C or XG-1-K or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESA-M1C75-B to each battery post to prevent corrosion.

NOTE: When battery voltage is removed from the powertrain control module, all learned values will be cleared and reset to predetermined values. When battery voltage is restored to the PCM, the vehicle may exhibit certain driveability concerns. It will be necessary to drive the vehicle to allow the PCM to relearn values for optimum driveability and performance.

NOTE: The battery cover must be installed so that the notched area clears the wiring harness.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
