Muffler Inlet Pipe: Removal

    CAUTION: When repairing the exhaust system or removing exhaust components, disconnect the heated oxygen sensors (HO2S) (9F472) at the wiring harness to prevent damage to the sensors and harness.
    1. Disconnect the HO2S electrical connectors.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle; refer to JACKING & HOISTING .
  2. Remove the muffler; refer to MUFFLER .
  3. Remove the three way catalytic converter (TWC) to muffler inlet pipe and resonator nuts and bolts.

  4. Remove and discard the exhaust converter outlet gasket (5E241).
  5. Remove the crossmember.
    1. Remove the bolts.
    2. Remove the crossmember.

  6. Pry the three exhaust hanger insulators (5F262) from the mounting hooks.

  7. Remove the muffler inlet pipe and resonator (5A289).
