- Remove the power transfer unit (PTU). For additional information, refer to Power Transfer Unit (PTU) - Automatic Transaxle .
- Using the special tools, remove the intermediate shaft seal.
- Remove the bolt and the vent tube.
- Remove the 12 bolts and the PTU cover.
- Remove the helical driven gear, idler gear and drive gear.
- Using a suitable tool, remove the input shaft seal.
- Clean the PTU sealing surface.
