Front Brake Caliper: Disassembly

CAUTION:
Brake fluid is harmful to painted and plastic surfaces. If brake fluid is spilled onto a painted or plastic surface, immediately wash it with water.
- Remove the brake caliper. For additional information, refer to BRAKE CALIPER .
- Apply low air pressure to the fluid port in the brake caliper.
- Place a block of wood between the caliper bridge and the caliper pistons.
- Apply low air pressure to the fluid port in the brake caliper to force out the caliper pistons.
- Remove the block of wood and the caliper pistons.
- Remove the caliper piston seals and boots.
- Inspect the caliper bores for scoring or corrosion. If scoring and corrosion exist, install a new brake caliper assembly.
