Engine Support Insulators: Removal

    All vehicles 

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Remove the throttle body (TB). For additional information, refer to REMOVAL .
  4. Remove the generator. For additional information, refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Remove the upper cooling fan shroud. For additional information, refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  6. Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) tube quick connect coupling and position aside. For additional information, refer to QUICK CONNECT COUPLING .

  7. If servicing the RH engine support insulator, remove the starter. For additional information, refer to REMOVAL .
  8. If servicing the LH engine support insulator, remove the oil level indicator and tube. For additional information, refer to OIL LEVEL INDICATOR AND TUBE .
  9. Install the special tools.

  10. Remove the 4 exhaust manifold-to-catalytic converter nuts.

  11. CAUTION: Only use hand tools when removing the transmission mount-to-crossmember nuts or damage to the transmission mount can occur.

  12. Loosen the transmission mount-to-crossmember nuts.
  13. CAUTION: Only use hand tools when removing the engine mount nut or damage to the engine mount can occur.

  14. Remove the RH engine mount nut.
  15. CAUTION: Only use hand tools when removing the LH engine mount through bolt or damage to the cage nut can occur.
    NOTE: If the LH engine mount through bolt nut is missing or damaged install a new nut using service part number W709375. If the LH engine mount through bolt nut cage is damaged or missing, remove the cage and install a new nut using service part number W520516-S301.

  16. Remove the LH engine mount through bolt.
  17. Using the special tools, raise the engine.

  18. RH engine mount 

  19. Remove the 3 bolts and the engine mount.

  20. LH engine mount 

  21. If servicing the LH engine mount on a 4WD vehicle, remove the front driveshaft. For additional information, refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  22. Remove the 3 bolts and the engine mount.
