Removal and Installation
NOTE:
RH side shown in illustration, LH side similar.
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of personal injury, do not use any memory saver devices.
NOTE:
If a seat equipped with a supplemental restraint system (SRS) component is being serviced, the SRS must be depowered.
NOTE:
The air bag warning lamp illuminates when the RCM fuse is removed and the ignition switch is ON. This is normal operation and does not indicate a SRS fault.
NOTE:
The SRS must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.
- Position the seat to its most forward position.
- Depower the SRS. For additional information, refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering in the General Procedures portion of SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM .
- Disconnect the belt tension sensor electrical connector.
- Remove the lower safety belt anchor bolt.
- To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
- Remove the lower B-pillar trim panel. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
- Remove the safety belt guide cover by squeezing the height adjuster buttons and pulling the cover out at the bottom.
- Remove the safety belt guide D-ring bolt and D-ring.
- To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
- Remove the bolt and safety belt and retractor assembly.
- To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Repower the SRS. For additional information, refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering in the General Procedures portion of SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM .
- Check the active restraint system for correct operation. For additional information, refer to SAFETY BELT SYSTEM .
