Remove the battery. For additional information, refer to BATTERY MOUNTING AND CABLES .
Remove the bolts and the battery tray.
- To install, tighten to 12 Nm 9 (lb-ft).

Remove the intake air hose.
1. Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose.
2. Loosen the clamps.
  - To install, tighten to 4 Nm (35 lb-in).
3. Remove the intake air hose.

Remove the bolts and the resonator.
- To install, tighten to 11 Nm (8 lb-ft).

Install the special tools.

Remove the nuts and the rear engine mount.
- To install, tighten the center nut to 133 Nm (98 lb-ft).
- Tighten the outer nuts to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).

Remove the 3 bolts and the rear engine mount bracket.
- To install, tighten to 80 Nm (59 lb-ft).

Disconnect the reverse lamp switch electrical connector.

Pressing the locking tab, disconnect the gearshift cables from the transaxle.
- Disconnect the shift cable and the selector cable from the shift mechanism.

NOTE: Make sure the transaxle is in the NEUTRAL position.

Position the transaxle in the NEUTRAL position. Remove the 6 bolts and the gearshift mechanism.
- To install, tighten the bolts in a star pattern to 23 Nm (17 lb-ft).

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Apply a bead of gasket maker to the seating surface.
- Adjust the gearshift cables. For additional information, refer to MANUAL TRANSAXLE-TRANSMISSION AND CLUTCH - GENERAL INFORMATION .
