Driver Air Bag Module: Installation

    CAUTION: Always apply a liberal bead of electrical grease XG-12 to the driver air bag module electrical connector face prior to connecting the driver air bag module electrical connector to the clockspring. Failure to follow this instruction may result in poor connectivity and may set intermittent/on-demand supplemental restraint system (SRS) DTCs.
  1. Apply electrical grease XG-12 to the driver air bag module electrical connector face.

  3. Connect the driver air bag module electrical connector to the clockspring.
  4. Install the driver air bag module to the steering wheel.
  5. NOTE: Turn the steering wheel to gain access to the air bag module bolts.
  6. Attach the 3 retaining clips and install the driver air bag module bolts.
    • Tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
  7. Repower the SRS. For additional information, refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering .
