Solenoid Body Assembly: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING .
  2. Remove the drain plug and drain the transmission fluid.
    • Discard the drain plug gasket.

  4. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) connectors and retaining clip from the RH pan rail and then position the connectors aside.

  6. Remove the HO2S connector from the front of the transmission pan rail.

    NOTE: The transmission fluid pan gasket is reusable, clean and inspect for damage. If not damaged, the gasket should be reused.
  8. Remove the transmission fluid pan screws, gasket and fluid pan.

    NOTE: Clean the area around the solenoid body connector to prevent contamination.
  10. Disconnect the solenoid body harness electrical connector.

  12. Remove the screws and the transmission fluid filter.

    CAUTION: Do not damage the solenoid body connector pins.
  14. Remove the solenoid body screws and remove the solenoid body by lifting on the body and pushing the connector from the other side of the case.
