Windshield Glass: Removal
WARNING:
To prevent glass splinters from entering eyes or cutting hands, wear safety glasses and heavy gloves when cutting glass from the vehicle. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
- Remove the cowl vent screen. For additional information, refer to FRONT END BODY PANELS .
- Remove the interior rear view mirror. For additional information, refer to REAR VIEW MIRRORS .
- Using an appropriate tool, starting at the bottom corner of the windshield glass, cut the urethane adhesive from the glass.
- Remove the windshield glass.
- Using a soft brush or vacuum, clean the pinch weld.
CAUTION:
Care must be taken to prevent scratching the pinch weld.
NOTE:
Lubricate the existing urethane adhesive with water to aid the tool while cutting.
