Brake Pads: Installation

    NOTE: Do not allow grease, oil, brake fluid or other contaminants to contact the pad lining material, or damage to components may occur. Do not install contaminated pads.
    NOTE: If installing new brake pads, install all new hardware as supplied with the brake pad kit.
  1. Install the new spring clips and brake pads to the brake caliper anchor plate.
    2. NOTE: Make sure the caliper pin boots are correctly seated to prevent corrosion to the guide pins.
    NOTE: Make sure that the brake hose is not twisted when the caliper is positioned on the anchor plate to prevent abrasive damage.
  2. Position the brake caliper onto the brake caliper anchor plate and install the 2 brake caliper guide pin bolts.
    • Tighten to 72 Nm (53 lb-ft).
  3. Install the wheel and tire. For additional information, refer to WHEELS & TIRES .
  4. If necessary, fill the brake master cylinder reservoir with clean, specified brake fluid.
    • Apply brakes several times to verify correct brake operation.
