Fuel Rail: Installation
- Install the fuel injectors and the retainer clips into the fuel rail.
- Install the fuel rail and fuel injectors as an assembly.
- Install the 2 fuel rail bolts.
- Tighten to 23 Nm (17 lb-ft).
- Connect the 4 fuel injector electrical connectors.
- Connect the 2 swirl control valve electrical connectors.
- Install the fuel rail insulator and attach the 2 wiring harness retainers.
- Connect the fuel tube-to-fuel rail quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION article.
- Install the generator air inlet duct and the 2 nuts and the bolt.
- Tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
- Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES article.
NOTE:
Use O-ring seals that are made of special fuel-resistant material. Use of ordinary O-ring seals can cause the fuel system to leak. Do not reuse the O-ring seals.
NOTE:
Install new fuel injector O-ring seals and lubricate them with clean engine oil.
NOTE:
Make sure the fuel rail clips snap back into place.
