Glow Plug: Installation

No. 4 and 6 glow plugs 

1. Install the glow plug.
   • Tighten to 19 Nm (168 lb-in) .

2. Clean and apply clean engine oil to the O-ring seals prior to installation.

3. Using the Glow Plug Connector Remover/Installer, install the glow plug harness.

4. Install the LH exhaust manifold. For additional information, refer to ENGINE - 6.0L DIESEL article.

   No. 1, 3 and 5 glow plugs 

5. Install the glow plug.
   • Tighten to 19 Nm (168 lb-in).

6. Clean and apply clean engine oil to the O-ring seals prior to installation.

7. Using the Glow Plug Connector Remover/Installer, install the glow plug harness.

   No. 7 and 8 glow plugs 

8. Install the glow plug.
   • Tighten to 19 Nm (168 lb-in).

9. Clean and apply clean engine oil to the O-ring seals prior to installation.

10. Using the Glow Plug Connector Remover/Installer, install the glow plug harness.

11. Install the engine cover. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION article.

    No. 2 glow plug 

12. Install the glow plug.
    • Tighten to 19 Nm (168 lb-in).

13. Clean and apply clean engine oil to the O-ring seals prior to installation.

14. Using the Glow Plug Connector Remover/Installer, install the glow plug harness.

15. Install the PCM and bolt.
    • Tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).

NOTE: Fully seat the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) electrical connectors prior to latching them or damage to the connector pins may occur.

16. Connect the PCM electrical connectors.
NOTE: ACL  side shown in illustration, engine side similar.

17. Install the ACL  outlet pipe and tighten the clamps.
18. Connect the coolant hoses to the ACL  outlet pipe.

19. Remove the power steering fluid indicator. Position the power steering reservoir mounting bracket. Install the 3 bolts and power steering fluid indicator.

20. Install the 4 power steering reservoir bracket bolts.

21. Position the upper air deflector and install the 6 pushpin retainers.
