Seat Control Switch - Front: Removal

NOTE: If the passenger seat is equipped with an Occupant Classification Sensor (OCS) bladder system, to prevent system failure, it is necessary to carry out the OCS  system reset when a front passenger seat cushion is disassembled, a new cushion cover is installed or an OCS  system service kit is installed. A scan tool is used to carry out the OCS  system reset.
NOTE: For component identification and locations, refer to SEAT - EXPLODED VIEW, FRONT .
  1. WARNING: Turn the ignition OFF and wait one minute to deplete the backup power supply. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury or death in the event of an accidental deployment.

    For passenger seat, turn the ignition OFF and wait at least one minute.

  2. Slide up and remove the cushion side shield cover.

  3. Remove the safety belt anchor.
    • For driver seat, remove the bolt and separate the safety belt anchor.
    • For passenger seat, disconnect the Belt Tension Sensor (BTS) electrical connector, remove the bolt and safety belt anchor.
  4. If equipped, remove the manual recline handle.
    1. Locate the manual recline handle clip under the cushion side shield.
    2. Remove the clip and slide the handle off the shaft.

  5. If equipped, remove the manual lumbar handle.
    1. Locate the manual lumbar handle clip under the cushion side shield.
    2. Remove the clip and slide the handle off the shaft.

  6. At the rear of the seat, detach the carpet flap toe-kick retainers from under the seat.

  7. If equipped, from the front of the seat, detach the wire harness retainer and disconnect the seat control switch electrical connectors.

  8. For 6-way and 10-way power seats, remove the cushion side shield.
    1. Remove the screw at the back.
    2. Remove the scrivet at the back.
    3. Remove the screw at the front.
    4. Pull out and release the 3 retaining clips.
    5. Slide the cushion side shield forward to detach from the seat track bracket.
    6. Disconnect the seat control switch electrical connector.
    7. Disconnect the memory set switch electrical connector (if equipped).

  9. For 14-way power seats, remove the cushion side shield.
    1. Remove the screw at the back.
    2. Remove the scrivet at the back.
    3. Remove the screw at the front.
    4. Pull out and release the 3 retaining clips.
    5. Slide down and separate the hook.
    6. Disconnect the memory set switch electrical connector (if equipped).

  10. If equipped, remove the buttons, release the 4 tabs and remove the seat control switch.

  11. If equipped, remove the 4 screws, cover and seat control switch.
