Pinpoint Test

  1. VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN
    1. Ignition ON.
    2. Verify there is an observable symptom present.
      • Is an observable symptom present?
      • Yes:  GO to step 2 .
      • No:  The system is operating normally at this time. The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
  2. CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
    1. Ignition ON.
    2. Using a scan tool, perform network test.
      • Does the Front Lighting Control Module (FLM) pass the network test?
  3. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) FROM THE Body Control Module (BCM) SELF-TEST
    1. Using a scan tool, check for recorded Body Control Module (BCM) Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from the self-test.
      • Is Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U3003:16 or Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U3003:17 recorded?
  4. CHECK FOR Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) B11D9:16 AND B11D9:17 FROM THE Front Lighting Control Module (FLM) SELF-TEST
    1. Retrieve the continuous memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from the Front Lighting Control Module (FLM).
      • Is Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) B11D9:16 or Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) B11D9:17 recorded?
  5. RECHECK THE Body Control Module (BCM) Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)
NOTE: If new modules were installed prior to the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) being set, the module configuration may be incorrectly set during Programmable Module Installation (PMI) or the Programmable Module Installation (PMI) may not have been carried out.
    1. Using a scan tool, clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). Repeat the Body Control Module (BCM) self-test.
      • Is Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U0182:00 still present?
      • Yes:  GO to step 6 .
      • No:  The system is operating correctly at this time. The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
  6. CHECK FOR Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U0182:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES
    1. Clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
    2. Ignition OFF.
    3. Ignition ON.
    4. Wait 10 seconds.
    5. Using a scan tool, retrieve the continuous memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from all modules.
      • Is Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U0182:00 set in any other module?
