Pinpoint Test

  1. VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN
    1. Ignition ON.
    2. Verify there is an observable symptom present.

    Is an observable symptom present? 

    • Yes: GO to .
    • No: The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
  2. CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
    1. Ignition ON.
    2. Using a scan tool, perform network test.

    Does the FLM pass the network test? 

    • Yes: GO to .
    • No: REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE M : The Front Lighting Control Module (FLM) Does Not Respond To The Scan Tool.
  3. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs  FROM THE BCM SELF-TEST
    1. Using a scan tool, check for recorded BCM DTCs  from the self-test.

    Is DTC U3003:16 or DTC U3003:17 recorded? 

  4. CHECK FOR DTCs  B11D9:16 AND B11D9:17 FROM THE FLM SELF-TEST
    1. Retrieve the continuous memory DTCs  from the FLM.

    Is DTC B11D9:16 or DTC B11D9:17 recorded? 

  5. RECHECK THE BCM DTCs 
    1. NOTE: If new modules were installed prior to the DTC being set, the module configuration may be incorrectly set during PMI or the PMI may not have been carried out.

      Using a scan tool, clear the DTCs  . Repeat the BCM self-test.

    Is DTC U0182:00 still present? 

    • Yes: GO to .
    • No: The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
  6. CHECK FOR DTC U0182:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES
    1. Clear the DTCs  .
    2. Ignition OFF.
    3. Ignition ON.
    4. Wait 10 seconds.
    5. Using a scan tool, retrieve the continuous memory DTCs  from all modules.

    Is DTC U0182:00 set in any other module?
