Pinpoint Test

  1. VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN
    1. Ignition ON.
    2. Verify there is an observable symptom present.

    Is an observable symptom present? 

    1. Yes: GO to .
    2. No: The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
  2. CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
    1. Ignition ON.
    2. Using a scan tool, perform a network test.

    Does the RCM pass the network test? 

    1. Yes: GO to .
    2. No: REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE C : The Restraints Control Module (RCM) Does Not Respond To The Scan Tool.
  3. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs  FROM THE C-CM  AND THE RCM SELF-TEST
    1. Using a scan tool, perform the C-CM  and the RCM self-tests.

    Is DTC U3003:16 or DTC U3003:17 recorded? 

    1. Yes: For the C-CM  , REFER to Diagnostic Routine Q: U3003:16 , or REFER to Diagnostic Routine R : U3003:17.

      For the RCM, REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE Y : U3003:16 and U3003:17.

    2. No: GO to .
  4. RECHECK THE C-CM DTCs 
    1. NOTE: If new modules were installed prior to the DTC being set, the module configuration can be incorrectly set during the PMI or the PMI may not have been carried out.

      Using a scan tool, clear the DTCs  .

    2. Repeat the C-CM  self-test.

    Is DTC U0123:00 still present? 

    1. Yes: GO to .
    2. No: The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
  5. CHECK FOR DTC U0123:00 OR DTC U0151:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES
    1. Using a scan tool, clear all DTCs  .
    2. Ignition OFF.
    3. Using a scan tool, perform self-test.
    4. Ignition ON.
    5. Wait 10 seconds.
    6. Retrieve the continuous memory DTCs  from all modules.

    Is DTC U0123:00 or DTC U0151:00 set in other modules? 

    1. Yes: INSTALL a new RCM. REFER to RESTRAINTS CONTROL MODULE (RCM) .
    2. No: INSTALL a new C-CM  . REFER to Cruise Control Module (C-CM) .
