Pinpoint Test

NOTE: DTC U3003:17 may be stored in the module memory due to past battery charging or vehicle jump starting events.
  1. CHECK FOR DTC U3003:17, B1317, B1676, P0563 or P0626 SET IN OTHER MODULES
    1. Ignition ON.
    2. Using a scan tool, perform self-test.
    3. Retrieve the CMDTCs  from all modules.

    Is DTC U3003:17, B1317, B1676, P0563 (PCM) or P0626 (PCM) set in more than one module? 

    1. Yes: REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE A : System Voltage High to diagnose an overcharging condition.
    2. No: GO to 2  .
  2. CHECK THE BATTERY VOLTAGE
    1. Turn off all the interior/exterior lights and accessories.
    2. Start and run the engine at approximately 2, 000 RPM for 3 minutes while monitoring the battery voltage.

    Does the battery voltage rise to 15.5 volts or higher? 

    1. Yes: REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE A : System Voltage High to diagnose an overcharging condition.
    2. No: GO to 3  .
  3. RECHECK FOR DTC U3003:17
    1. Turn the engine off.
    2. Ignition ON.
    3. Using a scan tool, clear the CMDTCs  .
    4. Perform the C-CM  self-test.

    Is DTC U3003:17 present? 

    1. Yes: INSTALL a new C-CM  . REFER to Cruise Control Module (C-CM) .
    2. No: The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set previously during battery charging or while jump starting the vehicle.
