Push Rod Cleaning and Inspection

NOTE:
Refer to the appropriate Section 303-01 for the specification.
- Clean the push rods in a suitable solvent. Blow out the oil passage in the push rods with compressed air.
- Check the ends of the push rods for nicks, grooves, roughness or excessive wear.
- The push rods can be checked for straightness while they are installed in the engine by rotating them with the valve closed.
- They also can be checked using a Dial Indicator.
NOTE:
Do not attempt to straighten the push rods.
