Powertrain Control Module (PCM): Removal

  1. NOTE: Refer to the ENGINE CONTROLS - INTRODUCTION (EXCEPT DIESEL & HYBRID) (SECTION 0) for correct Vehicle Communication Module (VCM) hook-up procedure.

    If servicing the PCM, connect the scan tool to the vehicle. Allow the scan tool to identify the vehicle and obtain configuration data.

    • All programmable module information will automatically be retrieved by the VCM.
  2. Disconnect the 3 PCM electrical connectors.
  3. Remove the 2 retaining nuts and PCM.
