PCM DTC CHART

DTC Description Action
P0125 Insufficient Coolant Temperature For Closed Loop Fuel Control GO to PINPOINT TEST C .
P0128 Coolant Thermostat (Coolant Temperature Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature) GO to PINPOINT TEST C .
P0217 Engine Coolant Over Temperature Condition GO to PINPOINT TEST B .
P0480, P0481, P0482 Fan Control (FC) Circuit 1, 2 or 3, respectively REFER to the INTRODUCTION - GAS .
P1299 Cylinder Head Overtemperature Protection Active Sets in the PCMPCM when a cooling system fault was detected. A failure mode effects management strategy called fail-safe cooling was activated to protect the engine. Diagnose all other DTC's first. If no other DTC's are present, GO to PINPOINT TEST B .
P1940 Engine Coolant Level Signal Not Available Due To Driving Conditions Sets when the vehicle is on a very steep grade or is accelerating at a high rate for long period of time and the engine has been operating long enough in a condition that may cause overheating if the coolant level is low. Verify the coolant level is at the MAX line in the degas bottle. If the coolant is NOT below the MAX line diagnose all other DTCs first. If P1940 is the only DTC it should be cleared.
P2556 Engine Coolant Level Sensor/Switch Circuit Sets when there is an internal sensor fault. The sensor is still communicating on the CAN bus, but is unable to detect coolant level due to the internal circuit fault. INSTALL a new coolant stand-pipe.
P2557 Engine Coolant Level Sensor/Switch Circuit Range/Performance Sets when the coolant level signal is irrational or noisy (rapid change) for a calibrated time. Inspect the upper and lower stand pipe hoses for being kinked. If the hoses are not kinked clear the PCM DTCs and repeat the PCM self test. If the DTC is still present INSTALL a new coolant stand-pipe.
P2560 Engine Coolant Level Low Sets when the coolant level is below a calibrated threshold between empty and the MIN and MAX lines. Diagnose the cause of loss of coolant. GO to PINPOINT TEST A . If a cause of loss of coolant is not identified add the correct concentration of engine coolant until the level reaches the MAX line while the engine is cold. Clear the PCM DTCs and repeat the PCM self test. If the DTC is still present INSTALL a new coolant stand-pipe.
P26B7 Engine Coolant Bypass Valve "C" Control Circuit/Open GO to PINPOINT TEST D .
P26BD Engine Coolant Bypass Valve "D" Control Circuit/Open GO to PINPOINT TEST E .
All Other DTCs - REFER to ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROLS .
