Visual Inspection: Notes

A visual inspection identifies modifications or additions to the vehicle operating system that may affect diagnosis. Inspect the vehicle for non-Ford factory add-on devices such as:

• Electronic add-on items:
• Vehicle modification:

PCM or transmission function is affected if add on devices, wiring splices, abnormal tire size or axle ratio changes have occurred.

• If leaks are present; refer to LEAKAGE INSPECTION .
• Correct selector lever adjustments, refer to AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION EXTERNAL CONTROLS .
