Body Control Module (BCM): Removal

- 1.NOTE: This step is only necessary if the BCM is being replaced.NOTE: If installing a new BCM, verify at least 2 of the vehicle keys are available prior to carrying out this procedure (some vehicles may require 4 keys depending on configuration).NOTE: Not all vehicles have PATS. IKT type of keys for non- PATS and PATS equipped vehicles look identical.NOTE: If the BCM did not respond to the diagnostic scan tool, As-Built Data may need to be entered as part of the repair.
Using a diagnostic scan tool, begin the PMI process for the BCM following the on-screen instructions.

Remove the instrument panel console. Refer to: Instrument Panel Console .

Remove the 5 screws.Torque: 18 lb.in (2 Nm)
- 2.
Release the 6 clips and position the LH instrument panel finish panel.
- 3.
Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors and remove the LH instrument panel finish panel.

Disconnect the 4 electrical connectors.

Release the retaining clip.
- 3.
Lift the BCM out of the mounting bracket.
