Transmission Range (TR) Sensor: Installation

1.

Install the TR sensor and the park pawl actuator rod and connect the electrical connector.

5.

Lubricate a new manual control lever shaft seal with clean transmission fluid and install the manual control lever shaft seal on the manual control lever shaft.
Material: Motorcraft ® MERCON ® LV Automatic Transmission Fluid / XT-10-QLVC (MERCON ® LV) (WSS-M2C938-A)

Using the special tool, install the manual control lever shaft seal. Use Special Service Tool: 307-694 Installer, Manual Lever Seal.

NOTE: Do not use metal scrapers, wire brushes, power abrasive discs, or other abrasive means to clean sealing surfaces. These tools cause scratches and gouges which make leak paths.

Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material. Use the General Equipment: Plastic Scraper

8.

9.

Apply silicone to the transmission case assembly.
Material: Motorcraft ® Ultra Silicone Sealant / TA-29

Install the transmission case end cover assembly and the bolts.
Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
