Selector Lever Cable: Installation
- 1.
Install the selector lever cable, position the trim panel and install the retainers.
- 2.
Connect the electrical connectors.
- 3.
Install the selector lever cable mounting nuts to the grommet.Torque
: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)
- 4.
Install the APIM and the nuts.Torque
: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)
- 5.
On both sides. Install the HVAC duct and the bolts.
- 6.
Connect the selector lever cable retainer to the bracket.
- 7.
Install the selector lever cable bolt.Torque
: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)
- 8.
Connect the selector lever cable to the selector lever assembly.
- 9.
Install the floor console. REFER to: Floor Console .
- 10.
Attach the selector lever cable to the selector lever cable bracket.
- 11.
Position the exhaust heat shield forward and install the retainers.
- 12.
If equipped.Install the underbody shield and the retainers.
- 13.
Install the engine undershield and the retainers.
- 14.
Set the selector lever to the drive D position.
- 15.
Install the selector lever cable bracket bolt.Torque
: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)
- 16.
Position the transmission manual lever in D.- 1.
Rotate the manual control lever clockwise until it stops.
- 2.
Rotate the manual control lever counterclockwise 1 detent.
- 1.
- 17.
Unlock the adjuster.- 1.
Move the slide to the left.
- 2.
While holding the slide, position the adjuster lock upward.
- 1.
- 18.
Connect the selector lever cable to the manual control lever.
- 19.
Slide the adjuster tab in place to lock the selector lever cable.
- 20.
Install the air cleaner. REFER to: Air Cleaner - 1.5L EcoBoost (118kW/160PS) - I4. REFER to: Air Cleaner - 2.0L EcoBoost (184kW/250PS) - MI4. REFER to: Air Cleaner - 2.5L Duratec (125kW/170PS).

Verify that the vehicle starts in P and N only and that the reverse lamps illuminate in R.
