Main Control Cover: Installation

  1. 1.

    NOTE: Do not use metal scrapers, wire brushes, power abrasive discs, or other abrasive means to clean sealing surfaces. These tools cause scratches and gouges which make leak paths.

    Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material. Refer to RTV Sealing Surface Cleaning and Preparation in Engine System General Information .

  1. 2.

    Apply a bead of the Ultra Silicone Sealant.

    NOTE: Inspect the main control-to-main control cover grommet to make sure that it seals on the inside of the main control cover or a transmission fluid leak will occur.
    NOTE: Install the studbolts in the locations noted during disassembly.

    Install the main control cover on the transmission and install the 13 main control cover bolts.

    • Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).

  1. 4.

    Connect the transmission main electrical connector and the harness retainers.

  1. 5.

    Install the CAC outlet tube on the CAC and tighten the clamp.
    • Tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).

  1. 6.

    Install the temperature control valve, the nuts and the retainer.
    • Tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).

  1. 7.

    Install the ACL assembly. Refer to Intake Air Distribution and Filtering .

  1. 8.

    Fill the transmission with transmission fluid. Refer to Transmission Fluid Drain and Refill .
