Pinpoint Test K : U3003:62 - SCCM (Steering Column Control Module): Notes

Refer to Cruise Control for schematic and connector information.

NOTE: The SCCM is also known as the SASM and the steering wheel rotation sensor.

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

The SCCM receives battery voltage from the BCM and has a single ground circuit located in the instrument panel wiring harness. Excessive resistance or an open in one or both of these circuits, a discharged battery, an inoperative charging system or an overcharging condition in the charging system results in the SCCM setting a DTC.

This DTC may also set in the SCCM due to battery charging or vehicle jump starting events.

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

DTC Description Fault Trigger Conditions
U3003:62 Battery Voltage: Signal Compare Failure This DTC sets when the voltage received by the SCCM falls below 6 volts or raises above 21 volts.
