Selector Lever Cable Adjustment

Adjustment
- Apply the parking brake.
- Position the selector lever in D.
- Remove the air cleaner. REFER to: Air Cleaner - 1.5L EcoBoost (132kW/180PS) - I4. REFER to: Air Cleaner - 2.0L EcoBoost (177kW/240PS) - MI4. REFER to: Air Cleaner - 2.5L Duratec (125kW/170PS).
- Disconnect the selector lever cable end from the manual control lever.
- Rotate the manual control lever clockwise until it stops.
- Rotate the manual control lever counterclockwise 1 detent into D.
- Release the selector lever cable adjuster lock.
- Carefully pry the adjuster lock tabs outward.
- While holding the adjuster lock tabs outward, slide the lock out to unlock the selector lever cable.
- Connect the selector lever cable to the manual control lever.
- Slide the adjuster tab in place to lock the selector lever cable.
- Install the air cleaner. REFER to: Air Cleaner - 1.5L EcoBoost (132kW/180PS) - I4. REFER to: Air Cleaner - 2.0L EcoBoost (177kW/240PS) - MI4. REFER to: Air Cleaner - 2.5L Duratec (125kW/170PS).
- Verify the engine starts only in P and N and the reverse lamps illuminate only in R.
