All-Wheel Drive (AWD) Module: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

1.

Before replacing the AWD module use the Inhale Routine. After replacing use Exhale Routine. Use the General Equipment: Ford Diagnostic Equipment

2.

NOTE: The rear subframe needs to be lowered. The RDU does not need to be removed from the subframe to remove the AWD module.

Lower the rear subframe. Refer to: Rear Subframe - RS

3.

Disconnect the AWD module electrical connectors.

Remove the AWD module retainers and the AWD module.
Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
