Rear Frame Structure and Powertrain: Removal
- Discharge hydraulic system pressure. Refer to: Power Steering System Pressure Discharge .
- Release fuel system pressure. Refer to: Fuel System Pressure Release .
- Evacuate the A/C system. Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) System Recovery, Evacuation and Charging .
- Disconnect the battery. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
- Remove the inner quarter panel on both sides. Refer to: Inner Quarter Panel .
- Remove the engine cover. Refer to: Engine Cover .
- Disconnect the fuel line.
- Remove the air cleaner on both sides. Refer to: Air Cleaner .
- Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
- Disconnect the LH wiring harness connectors.
- Disconnect the RH wiring harness connector and retainers, and position aside.
- Remove the PCM. Refer to: Powertrain Control Module (PCM) .
- Disconnect the negative battery cable under the power distribution box, located on RH side of engine and position aside.
Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)
- Disconnect the body ground wire at the engine, located on the LH side engine valve cover.
Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

NOTE: Make sure all openings are sealed.
- Remove the nuts on the A/C compressor inlet line clamp.
Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
- Remove the A/C compressor line nut and disconnect the fitting.
Torque: 159 lb.in (18 Nm)
- Remove the nuts on the A/C compressor inlet line clamp.

NOTE: Make sure all openings are sealed.
- Disconnect the A/C compressor transducer electrical connector.
- Remove the nuts on the A/C compressor outlet line clamp.
Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
- Remove the A/C compressor outlet line nut and disconnect the fitting.
Torque: 159 lb.in (18 Nm)
- Remove the nuts and position aside the A/C compressor inlet line.
Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
- Remove the nuts and position aside the A/C compressor outlet line.
Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

NOTE: Capture fluid as lines are disconnected.
Disconnect the hydraulic lines at the bulkhead.
Torque: Pressure line: 142 lb.in (16 Nm) | Return line: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

NOTE: Capture fluid as line is disconnected.
Disconnect and position aside the hose from the hydraulic pressure compensator canister.
Torque: 142 lb.in (16 Nm)
- Disconnect and cap the LH and RH brake lines.
Torque: 159 lb.in (18.0 Nm)
- Remove the lower braces.
Torque: Forward bolt: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm) | Rearward bolts: 46 lb.ft (63 Nm)

NOTE: When reinstalling bolts, suspension needs to be raised.
Remove the shock absorber lower mount fasteners on both sides.
Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
- Remove and discard the LH motor mount upper bolt.
Torque: 59 lb.ft (80 Nm)
- Remove and discard the RH motor mount upper bolt.
Torque: 59 lb.ft (80 Nm)
- Disconnect the cooling system running bleed line at the degas bottle.
- Disconnect and cap the lower cooling hoses.
- Disconnect and cap the RH heater hose.
- Remove wire harness retainers and the torsion arm brackets on both sides.
Torque: Forward bolt: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm) | Rearward bolts: 46 lb.ft (63 Nm)

NOTE: LH side shown, RH side similar.
Disconnect the ride height actuator electrical connectors on both sides.
- Remove the drivers side door latch and position aside the engine compartment release cable. Refer to: Driver Door Latch Engine Compartment Release Cable .
- Install the drivers side door latch and latch bracket.
Torque: 1: 93 lb.in (10.5 Nm) | 2: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
- Disconnect and position aside the fuel tank pressure sensor from the fuel filler neck and the body.
- Support the rear of the vehicle with tripod style jack stands or similar and reposition rear hoist arms as necessary.
- Remove the rear jack stands and position a table under the rear frame structure and powertrain.
- Lower the vehicle and position on wood blocks.
- Position a suitable platform lift under powertrain using wood blocks or similar to support the engine and transmission assemblies. Use the General Equipment: Wooden Block
- Place tripod style jack stands or similar under the front suspension lower control arms to support the vehicle.

NOTE: Avoid over tightening the tie-down straps, they are used only to stabilize the vehicle on the hoist. Over tightening could deform the brackets.
Attach ratcheting tie-down straps on the LH and RH door latch brackets and the rear hoist arms. Use the General Equipment: Webbing Retainer

NOTE: Z-frame fasteners
must not be loosened. Rear body, powertrain structure and frame alignment will be compromised and the vehicle must be returned to the manufacturer. Contact the Ford GT Concierge to obtain assistance from Multimatic in this event.
Remove the upper frame structure-to-body fasteners on both sides.
Torque: 76 lb.ft (103 Nm)
- Remove the frame-to-body fasteners on both sides.
Torque: 76 lb.ft (103 Nm)

NOTE: Capture fluid as lines are disconnected.NOTE: LH side shown, RH side similar.
Move the frame and powertrain structure rearward slightly, to gain access to hydraulic lines on the hydraulic pressure actuators and disconnect on both sides.
Torque: Pressure line: 142 lb.in (16 Nm) | Return line: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
- Complete separating the rear frame structure and powertrain.
