Front Brake Pads: Removal

1.

Remove the wheel and tire. Refer to: Wheel and Tire .

2.

Remove the brake caliper spring.

NOTE: Do not pry in the caliper sight hole to retract the pistons as this can damage the pistons and boots.

NOTE: Do not allow the brake caliper and anchor plate assembly to hang from the brake hose or damage to the hose can occur.
- 1.
  
  Remove the caps.
- 2.
  
  Remove the brake caliper guide pin bolts.
  Torque: 21 lb.ft (28 Nm)
- 3.
  
  Position the brake caliper aside.

Remove the outboard brake pad.

Remove the inboard brake pad.

6.

Press the brake caliper piston. Use the General Equipment: Brake Caliper Piston Retractor
