Headlamp Control Module (HCM): Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

NOTE: If installing a new module, it is necessary to upload the module configuration information to the scan tool prior to removing the module. This information must be downloaded into the new module after installation.

Using a diagnostic scan tool, begin the PMI process for the HCM following the on-screen instructions.
Position the RH front door weatherstrip aside, release the clips and remove the instrument panel finish panel.

Remove the retainers and the RH insulation panel.

Open the glove compartment.

Remove the screws and the glove compartment. Disconnect the electrical connector.
Torque: 18 lb.in (2 Nm)

Remove the HCM.
1. Separate the wiring harness guide from the bracket.
2. Remove the screws.
3. Position the HCM out and down.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector.
