Steering Column Lock Module: Removal

Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
- Remove the steering column shrouds. Refer to: Steering Column Shrouds .
- Disconnect the steering column lock module electrical connector.
- Use a chisel and hammer to cut a slot in the steering column lock module bolt.

NOTE: The steering column lock and ignition switch housing is secured with a break-away head bolt. Tighten the bolt until the hex head portion of the bolt breaks away.
Remove the steering column lock module bolt. Use the General Equipment: Flat-Bladed Screwdriver
Torque
18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

NOTE: Note the position of the component before removal.
- Position the steering column lock module mounting strap up out of the way.
- Remove the steering column lock module.
