Power Transfer Unit Fluid Level Check

Materials 

Activation 

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
2. Remove the underbody shield.

3. Remove the PTU (Power Transfer Unit) fill plug.

4. Fill the PTU with clean fluid, level with the fill plug opening.

   Material

   : Motorcraft® SAE 75W-140 Synthetic Rear Axle Lubricant / XY-75W140-QL (WSL-M2C192-A)

5. Install the PTU fill plug.

   Torque

   : 33 lb.ft (45 Nm)

6. Install the underbody shield.
