Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2020 Ford Mustang. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

With the ignition ON, the IPMA sends messages to the ABS module over the HS-CAN 2. If the ABS module does not receive these messages within the specified time frame, the module sets a DTC. This can be due to an IPMA failure, a circuit failure on the network or an excessive load on the network. For information on the messages sent to the ABS module by the IPMA, refer to the Network Message Chart in Description and Operation in the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Stability Control article.

On vehicles equipped with adaptive cruise control, the CCM communicates with the ABS module through the IPMA, the CCM and the IPMA communicate over a private CAN.

DTC Description Fault Trigger Conditions
U0265:00 Lost Communication with Image Processing Sensor A: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets in the ABS module when the adaptive cruise control data messages from the IPMA are missing.
U053B:82 Invalid Data Received From Image Processing Module A: Alive/Sequence Counter Incorrect/Not Updated This DTC sets when the ABS module receives invalid data in the collision mitigation deceleration message or if the message is received for too long (more than 5 seconds) or if the rolling counter in the received message does not match the calculated counter.
