Front Wheel Speed Sensor - RWD: Removal

NOTE: Typical RH wheel speed sensor shown in illustration.
  1. NOTE: For RH side only. 

    Refer to: Air Cleaner - 6.2L V8 . Refer to: Air Cleaner - 6.8L Triton-30V - V10 . Refer to: Air Cleaner - 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel .

  2. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .

    F-250/F-350 

    NOTE: Vehicles with Twin I-Beam axle.
  3. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector and detach the retainers.

  4. Using compressed air, clean the area surrounding the wheel speed sensor.

    1. Detach the wheel speed sensor harness retainers.
    2. Remove the wheel speed sensor harness bolt.

      Torque: 106 lb.in (12 Nm)

    3. Remove the bolt and the wheel speed sensor.

      Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

    NOTE: Vehicles with Mono-Beam axle.
  5. Remove the brake disc shield. Refer to: Brake Disc Shield .
  6. Disconnect the electrical connector and detach the harness retainers.

  7. Using compressed air, clean the area surrounding the wheel speed sensor.

    1. Detach the harness retainers.
    2. Remove the harness retainer bolt.

      Torque: 106 lb.in (12 Nm)

    3. Remove the bolt and the wheel speed sensor.

      Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
