Removal And Installation: Hublock: Removal

Vehicles with Dual Rear Wheels
NOTE:
Vehicles equipped with the Electronic Shift-On-The-Fly (ESOF) system and the Constant Vacuum Hublock (CVH) (magenta paint dot) design are not interchangeable with the Pulse Vacuum Hublock (PVH) (yellow paint dot) design. Doing so can result in damage to driveline components and/or the hublocks not operating correctly.
NOTE:
Removal steps may contain installation instructions.
- Remove the wheel and tire. Refer to: Wheel and Tire - Vehicles With: Dual Rear Wheels .
- Remove and discard the hub extender nuts and the hub extender (if equipped).
Torque: 130 lb.ft (176 Nm)
All vehicles
- Loosen the hublock screws 3 turns.
- Carefully pry around the entire hub flange to release the gasket.
- It may be necessary to rotate the hublock to the AUTO or FREE position.

NOTE: Wiggle the axle shaft while sliding the hublock off of the splines to ease removal.
Remove the hublock and screws and the hublock.
Torque: 53 lb.in (6 Nm)
- Remove and discard the hublock O-ring and hublock gasket.
- Clean and lube the hublock.
- Clean the hublock assembly.
- Lube the hublock splines.
