Instrument Panel: Removal
- Depower the SRS. Refer to: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering .
- Remove the floor console. Refer to: Floor Console .
- Remove both A-pillar trim panels. Refer to: A-Pillar Trim Panel .
- Release the clips and remove the LH instrument panel trim panel.

- Release the clips and remove the RH instrument panel trim panel.

Release the clips and remove the RH scuff plate.

- Release the clips and remove the RH lower cowl trim panel.
- Release the molded snap in the fuse panel cover then rotate fuse panel inboard and foward to disengage hooks from the cowl trim.

Release the clips and remove the LH scuff plate.

- Release the clips and remove the LH lower cowl trim panel.
- Remove the push pins and the RH insulation panel.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.

Without floor console
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Remove the front center seat. Refer to: Front Center Seat .
- Remove the bolt, release the clips and remove the lower instrument panel finish panel.
All vehicles

- Open the glove compartment.
- Push the stop tabs inward.
- Fully lower the glove compartment and lift off the hinges.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Remove the bolt and disconnect the electrical connectors.
Torque
: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)
- Disconnect the electrical connectors at the BCM.
- Fold the carpet rearward.
- Remove the push pins and the HVAC floor duct.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors, release the harness retainers and position aside the harness.
- Release the clips to open the access panel, remove the bolts and the access panel.
Torque
: 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)
- Release the clips and remove the lower steering column trim panel.
- Remove the bolts and position the lever assembly for access.

- Remove the screw.
- Remove the clip.
- Remove the cable from the lever and position aside.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.

WARNING: Install a new steering column shaft bolt. Reuse could result in bolt failure and loss of vehicle control. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious injury to vehicle occupant(s).NOTE: Do not allow the steering wheel to rotate while the steering column shaft is disconnected or damage to the clockspring may result.
Remove and discard the bolt and disconnect the upper steering column shaft.
Torque
: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
- Release the clips and remove the defrost grille trim panel.
- Remove the bolt.

: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
- Remove the bolts.

: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
- Remove the bolts.
Torque
: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)
- Remove the bolts and the RH center support brace.
Torque
: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)
- Remove the bolts.

: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

- Remove the bolts.

: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

NOTE: Do not fully remove this bolt until ready to remove the instrument panel.
Remove the bolt.
Torque
: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
- Remove the bolts.

NOTE: To avoid damaging the instrument panel, an assistant is required when carrying out this step.NOTE: Make sure not to damage the instrument panel when removing the instrument panel from the vehicle.NOTE: Make sure that all electrical connectors and wiring are not hindered before removing the instrument panel or damage to the components may occur.
Rotate the instrument panel as required and remove through the RH front door opening.
