ISSUE

Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit at least one of the following conditions:

Clicking sound coming from shifter after it is placed and kept in reverse, neutral or drive position (2024 only)
Shifter will not shift out of park/into P
Shifter will not shift out of gear
Shifter will not stow/unstow
Shifter will move past the P position
Loose shifter lever arm at pivot
Illuminated powertrain malfunction (wrench) indicator
DTCs P0929:77, P0929:00, P0929:07 and/or P0929:9A

This may be due to a faulty GSM and/or connector C211 pin push out on circuit CCB61 or an open on circuit CCB61, between the ABS module and the BCM .

NOTE: If the gear shifter lever will not shift into P, the transmission will automatically shift into P when the Return to Park function is triggered.

ACTION

For vehicles that meet all of the criteria in the Issue and Model statements, follow the Service Procedure to inspect for connector damage and replace the GSM .

SERVICE PROCEDURE

Inspect connector C211 for pin fitment and/or damaged pin(s) and check for an open on circuit CCB61. Is there poor pin fitment or damage to pin 3 and/or an open in circuit CCB61 found?
1. Yes - repair the damaged pin(s) and/or wiring per cell 005 of the Wiring Diagram and proceed to Step 2.
2. No - proceed to Step 2.
Replace the GSM.
