Rear Wheel Speed Sensor: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  2. On both sides. Using compressed air, clean the area surrounding the rear wheel speed sensor.

    1. On both sides. Remove the rear wheel speed sensor bolt and detach the sensor.

      Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)

    2. On both sides. Detach the harness retainer.
    3. On both sides. Disconnect the parking brake actuator motor electrical connector.

  4. Detach the harness retainers from the rear axle.

  5. Disconnect the EPB and rear wheel speed sensor electrical connectors.

  6. Detach the EPB and rear wheel speed sensor electrical connector retainers.

  7. Detach the harness.

    1. Disconnect the rear differential electrical connector.
    2. Push the locking tab up and detach the harness routing bracket.
    3. Detach the harness retainer and remove the rear wheel speed sensor and EPB harness assembly.

  2. Disconnect the EPB and rear wheel speed sensor electrical connectors.

  3. Detach the EPB and rear wheel speed sensor electrical connector retainers and detach the harness.

  4. Detach the wiring harness.

    1. Disconnect the rear differential electrical connector.
    2. Detach the harness from the axle vent hose.
    3. Detach the harness retainer from the rear axle.
    4. Detach the harness routing bracket.

    1. Detach the harness retainer from the brake hose bracket.
    2. Detach the harness retainer from the rear axle.
    3. Detach the harness routing bracket.

    1. Remove the rear wheel speed sensor bolt and detach the sensor.

      Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)

    2. Disconnect the parking brake actuator motor electrical connector.
    3. Detach the harness retainer and remove the wheel speed sensor and EPB harness assembly.
