Cooling Module: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

Drain the electric drivetrain cooling system. Refer to: Electrified Drivetrain Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
Remove the underhood storage compartment. Refer to: Underhood Storage Compartment - Electric .
Recover the A/C system. Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) System Recovery, Evacuation and Charging - Electric .
If equipped. Recover the refrigerant cooling system. Refer to: Refrigerant Cooling System Recovery, Evacuation and Charging .
If equipped. Remove the condenser inlet and outlet line nuts and disconnect the fittings.
- Make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system.
  Torque
  
  : 1:: 159 lb.in (18 Nm) 2:: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

Disconnect the quick connect hose coupling and the upper radiator hose.

Remove the A/C compressor to condenser line nut and disconnect the fitting.
- Make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system.
  Torque
  
  : 159 lb.in (18 Nm)

1. Remove the radiator air deflector upper bolts.
  Torque
  
  : 62 lb.in (7 Nm)
2. Remove the cooling module upper bolts.
  Torque
  
  : 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)

Remove the front bumper. Refer to: Front Bumper - Electric .
Remove the condenser outlet line nut and disconnect the fitting.
- Make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system.
  Torque
  
  : 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

Disconnect the quick connect hose coupling and the lower radiator hose.

Disconnect the cooling fan electrical connector.

NOTE: This step requires the aid of another technician.

Remove the cooling module support bolts and lower the cooling module.

Torque

: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)
