Radio Transceiver Module (RTM): Removal

All vehicles 

1. NOTE: If installing a new module, it is necessary to upload the module configuration information to the scan tool prior to removing the module. This information must be downloaded into the new module after installation.

   Vehicles With: Panoramic Roof Panel 

2. Refer to: HEADLINER - BUS SHORT WHEELBASE, VEHICLES WITH: PANORAMIC ROOF PANEL . Refer to: HEADLINER - BUS LONG WHEELBASE, VEHICLES WITH: METAL ROOF PANEL

   Vehicles Without: Panoramic Roof Panel 

3. • On both sides.
   • Release the clips and the tether clip and remove the A-pillar trim panel.
   • If equipped, disconnect the speaker electrical connector and remove the A-pillar trim panel.

4. Remove the retainers and the RH kick panel.

5. Release the tabs, remove the retainers and the glove compartment.

6. Disconnect the headliner electrical connectors, release the retainers and position the wiring harness aside.

7. Release the retainers and position aside the headliner wire harness.

8. Disconnect the electrical connector, release the retainers and position aside the wire harness.

9. Remove the dome lamp and disconnect the electrical connectors.Use Special Service Tool: 501-125 Remover, Grab Handle Cover.

10. NOTE: Note the position of the components before removal.

    Remove the retainers and the LH side sun visor.

12. 1. Both sides, If equipped.Position the hook cap aside.
    2. Rotate the hook 90 degree counterclockwise and remove the garment hook.

13. Remove the rear view mirror covers.

14. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

15. Release the clips and remove the rear view mirror covers.Use Special Service Tool: 501-125 Remover, Grab Handle Cover.

16. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

    Vehicles With: Overhead Console 

17. • Disengage the retaining tabs and remove the roof bezel cover.
    • Disconnect the roof bezel cover electrical connectors.Use Special Service Tool: 501-125 Remover, Grab Handle Cover.

18. On both sides.On both sides, remove the grab handle covers and retainers.Use Special Service Tool: 501-125 Remover, Grab Handle Cover.

19. Remove the retainers and the front seat overhead storage compartment assembly.

    All vehicles 

20. On both sides.Position the front door weatherstrip aside, release the clips and remove the front door scuffplate trim panel.

21. • Remove the safety belt anchor bolt and position the safety belt aside.

      Torque: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)

    • Position the rear door weatherstrip and the rear door scuff plate trim panel aside.
    • Release the clips, slide up and remove the lower B-pillar trim panel.

22. 1. Remove the-D-ring bolt cover and the D-ring bolt and position the safety belt aside.

       Torque: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)

    2. Remove the upper B-pillar trim panel bolt.
    3. Release the upper B-pillar trim panel clips.
    4. Slide the upper B-pillar trim panel forward and remove the upper B-pillar trim panel.

23. • Remove the retainers and the sun visor clips.
    • Release the retainers and lower the headliner.

24. • Disconnect the electrical connector.
    • Release the tabs and remove the Radio Transceiver Module (RTM).
