Cylinder Block Core Plug Replacement

Repair 

NOTE: Cylinder block core plug shown, cylinder head core plug similar.
  1. Clean the cup plug contour using air.

  2. Clean the surface area shown with brake cleaner and air dry.

  3. NOTE: Do not touch the metal surface with the tip of the bottle.

    Apply loctite around the interface between the cup plug and housing.

  4. Loctite must be seen all around the cup plug circumference.

  5. Using a lint free towel remove any excess or spot faces found without removing the loctite from the cup plug.Use the General Equipment: Lint-Free Towel

  6. Let the loctite cure for 24 hours without engine operation.

  7. Start the vehicle and inspect for leaks.

  8. If no leaks detected and the cup plug is sealed successfully mark above the cup plug.
